Band to traverse the country from October to February, with more than 30 dates scheduled!

Sydney quintet The Rumjacks unleash the extraordinary energy and passion of their third studio album Sleepin’ Rough today via FOUR || FOUR.
Sleepin’ Rough is full throttle, raucous and real, showcasing a thundering punk aesthetic intertwined with the group’s Irish and Scottish musical heritage.

Having spent the last three months overseas on a 90-date tour of Europe and UK,
The Rumjacks are pumped to bring their blistering live set home to Australia, playing new album tracks alongside fan favourites.   The Sleepin’ Rough tour is the band’s most ambitious Australian tour to date - 35 dates taking in every nook and cranny of the country, from Darwin to Launceston, East Coast to West Coast!  They are one of this country’s most successful live exports, becoming Festival regulars throughout the UK and Europe and playing massive events such as Woodstock Poland, Punk Rock Holiday, Exit Festival, Lowlands, Rockmaraton and Mighty Sounds.

Sleepin’ Rough picks up where 2015’s Sober & Godless left off, carrying stories of life, love and loss, set to a throbbing beat.  The music, while hard and fast for the most part, carries with it an element of fun and frivolity, harking back to their Old Country roots, places where music is an integral part of community gathering, soundtracking the times with an almost savage joy.

First single ‘A Fistful O’ Roses’, was an emphatic protest at Sydney’s venue lock-out laws, with accompanying music video directed by Josh Groom.   Follow up single ‘Fact’ry Jack’ is a nod to one of the last great larrikins, as singer Frankie McLaughlin says, “A real knockabout with a tonne o' character. He's seen the very best and worst this world had to offer and has a razor sharp sense of right and wrong to show for it. We've all known someone like him, and if not, then we're poorer for it, we could learn a thing or two from blokes like him”.

Good day to all & sundry,

This week catches us in the middle of a short run of shows in Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne, with one down & two to go. We learned that it actually does get cold in QLD, who’d have thunk it?

The reception at The Joynt, though was BLISTERING! Deadweight Express & Bare White Knuckles doing a fine job of prepping the punters for our set. It was great to see so many Rumjack veterans and welcome more than a few freshies, the new guy’s keen to prove their worth by defying the ‘No Mosh’ rule in place on the night.. Respect!

We took the opportunity to field test a few new tunes, and after witnessing the beautiful mayhem first-hand, our very capable Producer has given us his Sagely nod.. We are now locked in & confirmed to go ahead and record a massive new album in a few short weeks!!!

We’ll each prepare for recording in our own unique way. One will go bowling in Las Vegas, one will visit a Buddhist temple, another will climb trees, one will cut firewood & brew chai while another will play surrogate father to a pair of Chihahuas – Who said all the Rock & Roll Danger-boys are dead?!!

Prior to that we still have 2 shows at The Teagardens Hotel in Sydney on the 10th and at The Bendigo Hotel on the 16th, so come on out & get messy with us before we go into lockdown.

Get ‘em in!..

G’day to all our good friends from wherever you may hail.

We’re all absolutely cracklin’ with excitement at the way this year’s shaping up for us. Firstly, we’ve all slugged it out behind closed doors with the help of our producer, to decide which songs will make the cut for our new full length album. We’re now ready to march into the studio & nail them once & for all.

In the meantime though, we’ve also been able to log a few shows up & down the country. The Townie in Sydney played host to a family reunion of sorts in March, when we shared the bill with our old mates Handsome Young Strangers. It was screamer! And good to see so many new heads among the loyal support.

May see’s us tearin’ up to Brisbane for one night only, as well as a one of show in Melbourne shortly after that. We’ll be joined by a handful of great bands and we’re looking forward to catchin’ up with interstate mates along the way.

Apart from a new album , keep an eye out for a whole new range of killer merch to be rolled out over the coming weeks & months including limited release vinyl copies of “Gangs of New Holland.”

Once all that’s done & dusted though, we’re reckoning on some pretty extensive touring  – your support has been amazing and the least we can do is get around to you all & say thanks.

We’ll make a proper ol’ night of it!

Until then though, All the best o’ luck & good health to ye.
